Hi BIZZY, how are you?

I’m good, thanks for asking! Just getting back into the swing of things after the tour :)

What's your story?

That’s a loaded question haha. My music story is that I didn’t get into music until later in my life. I have always written songs but never took it seriously until I was about 17. When I got accepted to Belmont in Nashville, I was too scared to label myself as an artist, so I started writing for other artists. I did that for about 3 years and then finally decided to release my own music!

Could you tell me about your new single "I Really Like This Part"? What's the inspiration behind this song?

Ah yes! This is one of my favorites :) I wrote this song in the beginning of a past relationship. I had just started dating this guy, and everything was sparkles and butterflies. We were still getting to know each other, and it was just an exciting summer crush. I wrote the song in hopes of capturing that feeling, and I really feel like I did. It feels like I captured butterflies in a jar, and I get to experience that feeling all over again when I listen. That’s my favorite thing about music.

Could you describe the songwriting/production process behind this song? Who helped you create it?

Yes! I wrote this with Brett Truitt and Spencer Jordan. Both incredible songwriters in Nashville. I had written verse 1 the night before and walked in all giddy about this relationship (and honestly just gushed about him for like 2 hours). Then we wrote the rest of the song based on those feelings.

When did you know "I Really Like This Part" had to be a single?

Honestly, the second we wrote it. It has magic in it.

What message do you want to deliver through this single? What do you want people to feel when listening to it?

I just want people to feel giddy and excited and in love!

You've been on tour with Rachel Chinouriri - what's the best thing about touring? And what are the biggest challenges?

Oh my gosh yes it’s been a DREAM!!!! The best thing about this tour (and every tour) is the people I get to meet along the way, whether they’re on the tour or in the crowd. There is nothing like meeting a fan after the show, and having them tell you that one of your songs got them through something. It’s the ultimate soul connection. The biggest challenge about touring is all the driving, because we have travel days that sometimes consist of 12 hours of driving and then we play a show the next day. So it can feel like a lot, but it’s SO worth it.

What do you feel every time you're about to perform in front of a new crowd?

Excitement! It’s such a rush. I try to think of it as one big party, and we’re all just dancing and singing together.

What did you learn about yourself after this touring experience? -

That I’m stronger than I think.

How's it like to be a woman in the music industry? What advice would you give to women out there?

There’s benefits and there’s struggles. I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is that you have to go with your gut and say what you want, otherwise you will get run over.

What biggest lessons have you learned since the beginning of your career?

Honestly, probably what I just said above but to expand on that, trusting yourself and your instincts. Because you are smarter and stronger than you think. Nobody is you, that’s a super power.

In your opinion, what would make the world a BETTER place?

Oh wow… now THAT'S a loaded question. I think compassion. Knowing that everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about, so always treat everyone with kindness.
